Spring Preserve

Our neighbor gave us tickets to the Spring Preserve here in Las Vegas. So this week the weather was nice enough that we decided to use our free passes before they expired, and before it got too hot to be outdoors. Jeremy had to work so I took the kids Tuesday afternoon and we spent a couple of hours there. They had a great time and didn't want to leave to come home. They are really into bugs right now, so they thought that the ants, scorpions, and tarantula was pretty cool. Not to mention all the lizards. They also were able to see a fox, turtles, and a bunny. It was funny, every animal we saw, they asked if they could hold it. Even the ones that looked a little scary! We really enjoyed the afternoon and learned a lot. Thanks to our neighbor for thinking of us. Here are the kids in the flash flood room. There is a little video explaining about flash floods and how dangerous they can be. Then they send water down through the rocks and under the platform were we stand to demonstrate what it would look like if you ever were caught in one. It's kinda scary, but definetly one of the coolest exhibits at the Spring Preserve.

Hailey and Garrett Garrett thought this turtle was really cool.
Digging in the sand.
There is also a play area at the park which has a water feature. The kids love playing in the water.

How fun is that!! And what is it with kids and BUGS! Trayton tried to bring his 'pet' caterpillar to the store with us the other day. They love everything creepy and crawly!
